Cost of Attendance for Graduate Students
The cost of attendance for graduate students is based on standard student budgets that the University’s Office of Financial Aid establishes each year. The estimated costs below can assist you in planning your own budget. Estimated costs are updated annually.
The estimate below includes average tuition for graduate students. Actual tuition will vary according to the school or college of your degree program, whether you are a resident of Michigan or non-resident, and your level of study (i.e., whether you are a pre-candidate or candidate).
Estimates also reflect typical "modest but adequate" expense patterns. These are based on the cost of the average undergraduate’s double-occupancy room in a campus residency hall, as well as the University’s 150 Block Meal Plan which is available to any student. Actual expenses will vary depending on your lifestyle and your rent, whether you live in campus housing for graduate students or in an off-campus rental property. The cost of books and supplies vary by program and classes selected. Estimates for personal and miscellaneous costs, about $65 per week, include other expenses such as transportation, food not covered under the Block Meal Plan, long distance phone calls, clothes, entertainment, etc.
