Pre-Dissertation Defense Meeting: Mail-In Option
At least three weeks prior to your defense send one copy of dissertation and abstract to:

The dissertation and separate abstract should be complete, and in the required format. When the dissertation is received in our office, we will schedule it for review. Be mindful of the deadlines and allow enough time for the required materials to reach OARD. When the dissertation is received in our office, we will schedule it for review. The review will not be scheduled for the day the dissertation arrives but will be reviewed within 2-3 working days after it arrives. You do not need to make an appointment.
Please include a cover letter with the date, time, and location of your defense, along with the fax numbers of all your committee members. We will fax the evaluation forms to your committee members.
Include an e-mail address and/or phone number so that we can contact you with any corrections that will need to be made to your dissertation. Please note that this is a preliminary format check and that additional format revisions may be required at the post-defense meeting.
We will recycle the dissertation unless you tell us that you or one of your committee members will pick it up.
You will receive a folder of paperwork that includes the Survey of Earned Doctorates and other doctoral requirements when you come to pick up your oral defense packet. You may also be asked to show proof of registration at that time.
The oral defense is not contingent on passing the pre-dissertation defense meeting.
